Sanjiv Chadha was born on 18th September 1973 in Karnal, Haryana. His father ‘Shri Rana Pratap Chadha’ worked as a junior engineer in PWD and his mother ‘Mrs Santosh Chadha’ was home maker. His parents wanted him to do company secretaries, but he was keen on theatre and film. From ARYA VIDYA MANDIR, Rohtak, Haryana to DES PUBLIC SCHOOL Charkhi Dadari, Haryana, the schools changed but passion of creating and indulging in art dominated and he started learning singing in a local music school. Being a notorious kid and a cinephile he used to bunk schools and watch first shows of each and every film that used to get released in his hometown. Due to constant repositioning of his dad’s job, he returned back to Karnal and did his junior college in Dayal Singh College, Karnal and he did his graduation in DAV College, Karnal. During his days in college he was engrossed in theatre and started acting and directing plays which brought him many accolades both in acting as well as in direction. In a youth drama festival where there were 200 colleges participated, he preceded at the first position and was awarded the best director.

Sanjiv Chadha debuted from a television show ‘Dil Hai Ki Maanta Nahi’ on SONY TV. He also directed prominent television shows of BALAJI TELEFILMS such as ‘Kkusum, Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki, Kasauti Zindagi Ki, Kyunki Saans Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kayamat’ He also directed ‘Saarthi’ a television show produced by Asit Modi and was telecasted on STAR PLUS. He also directed another television show ‘Kehta Hai Dil’ for UTV.

Sanjiv Chadha directed a couple of well-known television shows for DOORDARSHAN CHANNEL like ‘Astitva – Ek Pehchan, Zindagi Kaisi Ek Paheli, Prakriti, Hum Hain Na, Door Kinare Milte Hain.’ He has also directed the award-winning television show ‘Kalpana’ under BALRAJ SAHANI PRODUCTIONS. He has directed popular television show ‘Hare Kaanch Ki Chhudiyaan’ for SAHARA TV.

He directed and produced 9 advertisements for ‘New York Life Insurance Company’ for NEW YORK TV. He has directed and produced the first-ever advertisement of HATHWAY CABLE INTERNET in India. He also directed advertisements for ASIAN SKY SHOP. He has directed more than 250 teleshopping brands advertisements.

In 2006 he produced and directed a documentary on Former President of USA ‘JIMMY CARTER’. It was globally shown for DOW CHEMICALS. He has directed many documentary films related to Health, Hygiene, Safe Sex, Family Planning, Child Marriage and other issues on Doordarshan.

In 2019 he directed a web series ‘Mona Home Delivery’ for ULLU APP starring ‘Vijay Raaz, Raj Pal Yadav, Mukesh Tiwari, Pratima Kazmi, Ganesh Acharya, Rajesh Sharma, Zakir Hussain, Kangana Sharma’
